CAD Drafter

The CAD Drafter/Designer will be responsible for executing a diverse range of responsibilities within the scope of reviewing, developing, and modifying drawings, diagrams, and layouts for design drafting projects. You will be supporting the company‚ s design and project management departments. We require a candidate with the motivation to succeed, a passion to excel, and willing to learn to accomplish their work with the highest operational excellence. You will be a key liaison internally across departments and externally with clients and vendors, so it is imperative to make sounds decisions with little to no guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings in both Auto CAD and REVIT from architectural plans, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet company and industry standards and codes

  • Able to modify existing CAD drawings per engineering markups

  • CAD drafting support for associates and project managers during the planning, design, and construction phases of various projects

  • Coordinate and manage Revit models

  • Provide prompt and accurate progress status reports on a regular and consistent basis to supervisor and project team members

  • Review all work for errors and mistakes prior to releasing as complete

  • Maintain, create, and follow check lists to ensure consistency and quality of work on every project

  • Complete accurate and timely project time sheets accounting for time spent on each project

  • Plotter management, paper loading, ink, etc.

  • Update drawings from mark ups

  • Read and interpret plans and blueprints

  • Coordinate project requirements with team members and provide assistance when necessary to complete required tasks

  • Special project execution as needed

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor‚ s Degree

  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) preferred

  • CAD training/experience preferred

  • Autodesk Revit training/experience preferred

  • Ability to create and modify Revit families and CAD dynamic blocks preferred

  • Ability to run clash detection preferred

  • Revit model coordination

  • Working knowledge of architectural and electrical prints

  • Basic understanding MEP and low voltage infrastructure

  • Knowledge of drafting standards

  • Ability to manipulate and adapt to files created by others

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

  • Ability to apply creative, technical and logical skills

  • Ability to interact with senior level executives and establish rapport with all levels of staff

  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details

  • Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it

  • Ability to work and maintain patience and professionalism with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and respond to ever changing and last minute requests

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
